Finished reading: Show Your Work! by Austin Kleon ๐Ÿ“š

Reread partially to juice my reading numbers, partially for an easy read to get back into reading but mostly to remember some of the ideas.

Finished reading: A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles ๐Ÿ“š a very enjoyable read. The writing style was fantastic and a very character driven book. I have a writing theory about one character but it would be too spoiler-ish to share in public.

Finished reading: The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard ๐Ÿ“š โ€” I see why people like it so much and I now recognise its influence on many other authors I like.

Started reading while traveling in the UK. Great so far, but I wonder how much Iโ€™d appreciate with out my knowledge of Russian culture.

Currently reading: A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles ๐Ÿ“š

Iโ€™ve tried to read this many times but got stuck near the start for some reason. Iโ€™ve made more progress this time and I like it a lot. I see why people like Willard. I will say he is more scholarly than his intro lets on! Currently reading: The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard ๐Ÿ“š

Very mixed feelings and not what I expected. I didnโ€™t like the style of writing nor how self centred it was, plus some of the insights feel very cliche especially for millennials post 2008. At the same time, there were some great prompts and really interesting sources cited. My personal opinion is read the books in the bibliography instead.

Finished reading: The Pathless Path by Paul Millerd ๐Ÿ“š

Finished reading: Same as Ever by Morgan Housel ๐Ÿ“šlistened on a car journey. Good idea, bit repetitive. Some interesting points to meditate on.

Finished reading: Bearing God’s Name by Carmen Joy Imes ๐Ÿ“š Dispensationalists will not like this. I wasnโ€™t expecting such a detailed exploration of continuity/discontinuity of the covenant but I was glad for it. I plan on rereading some of those final chapters as she explored the issues I find most challenging but Iโ€™m still not certain of her conclusions.

Currently reading: Bearing God’s Name by Carmen Joy Imes ๐Ÿ“š Currently at the third chapter and enjoying it a lot. Dr. Imes is a very witty writer and has some great insights.

Finished reading: Digital Liturgies by Samuel James ๐Ÿ“š good, probably even very good but not as good as the hype. I want to reread some sections.

Finished reading: Steal Like An Artist by Austin Kleon ๐Ÿ“š Read it again for some creative inspiration (and to help juice my reading numbers for the year).

Currently reading: Digital Liturgies by Samuel James ๐Ÿ“š

Finished reading: Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer ๐Ÿ“š

Finished reading: The Coaching Habit by Michael Bungay Stanier ๐Ÿ“š I wish I had read this when back when I was a manager. It would have corrected a load of my mistakes where I tried to solve everyoneโ€™s problems rather than letting others grow.

Finished reading: Jesus Through Middle Eastern Eyes by Kenneth E. Bailey ๐Ÿ“švery interesting cultural insights into core gospel passages (the nativity, the Lordโ€™s Prayer, preaching in Nazareth).

Currently reading: Handbook on the New Testament Use of the Old Testament by G. K. Beale ๐Ÿ“š

Finished reading: The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel ๐Ÿ“š

Finished reading: Stillness is the Key by Ryan Holiday ๐Ÿ“š Probably the best, most varied and most practical of Ryanโ€™s first trilogy.

Started reading: The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin ๐Ÿ“š

Finished reading: The Life We’re Looking For by Andy Crouch ๐Ÿ“š
