Hello from Goa

A few photos from my first day in Bangalore

As part of my wife’s new business she got a whole load of neuland stuff. And I have permission to use some!

Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.

My daughter decided to buy me some socks. I’m particularly excited about the doughnut ones.

Round two of guess the book

Let’s play guess the book.

Today’s mood

I shared this sketchnote summary of the One Minute Manager on my blog yesterday but I thought I’d share it here as well. I love the idea of focusing on catching good actions not mistakes. This was a core idea when I taught English to young learners.

It turns out that N.T. Wright and Mike Birds excellent book on the New Testament is also excellent as a mic stand.

Today I learned that 75% of our sensory neurons are visual neurons.

My daughter rejected my chunky tomato sauce last night so I made ”totally different” tomato sauce tonight and she ate it all.

Amazing how much flavor a blender adds.

Public service announcement: This sauce is amazing. We usually make our own sauce but this one is so worth it. It is a bit too spicy for our kids though.

Amazing what you can do with just a crayola.

May or may not be influenced by a recent trip to the softplay area this weekend.

For Inktober this year I’m practicing some larger drawing skills (for graphic recording). Early lessons

  1. Keep your letters consistent (whoops)
  2. Make sure your ink isn’t running out!
  3. I wish I had considered how much space I would have for everything ✍️

Made it to Essen. Found curry. Everything is okay.
